England Made Me

All about England

Gatwick Airport

Gatwick Airport, with 2 terminals, is the second largest (after Heathrow) of London’s airports. It is located in West Sussex about 25 miles south of Central London.

If you are travelling to Gatwick Airport, Smooth Hound Express offers a chauffeur driven service that will take you to your hotel for approximately 40% less than the average cost of a London taxi.

Otherwise you can travel to London by a choice of train or bus services.

Heathrow Airport

Heathrow Airport is situated in Hounslow in west London, approximately 12 miles from The City. It is one of the biggest and busiest airports in the world and as a result it is divided into 4 terminals:

* Terminals 1 and 2 mainly receive domestic and European flights;
* Terminal 3 receives most transatlantic flights by U.S airlines;
* Terminal 4 receives mainly British Airways flights.

If you are travelling to Heathrow Airport, Smooth Hound Express offers a chauffeur driven service that will take you to your hotel for approximately 40% less than the average cost of a London taxi.

Otherwise you can travel from Heathrow to central London by a choice of train, Underground (tube) or bus services.

London City Airport

This small airport is located in the heart of London, just 6 miles from The City. But it is served by just 11 airlines, flying from 18 European destinations, so it is mainly restricted to business flights.

If you are travelling to London City Airport, Smooth Hound Express offers a chauffeur driven service that will take you to your hotel for approximately 40% less than the average cost of a London taxi.

Otherwise there is a bus service that takes you to Liverpool Street Station where you can take the Underground. Or you could take the Docklands Light Railway.

Luton Airport

Although located several miles outside London, Luton Airport is classed by many as one of London’s airports.

It is mainly served by cheap charter flights, although Easy Jet is one of several airlines offering scheduled services from Luton.

If you are travelling to Stansted Airport, Smooth Hound Express offers a chauffeur driven service that will take you to your hotel for approximately 40% less than the average cost of a London taxi.

Otherwise, access to central London is not as easy from Luton as it is from other London airports, but there is a bus service available to Victoria. Alternatively you can catch a train from Luton Airport to Kings Cross Station where you can then pick up the Underground.

Stansted Airport

Stansted Airport, located 35 miles to the north-east of The City, is the smallest of London’s international airports.

If you are travelling to Stansted Airport, Smooth Hound Express offers a chauffeur driven service that will take you to your hotel for approximately 40% less than the average cost of a London taxi.

Otherwise you can catch a train to Liverpool Street Station where you can take the Underground. A bus service is also available.
