All about England
Bartholomew Lane, EC1
Nearest Tube: Mansion House
This interesting museum is located in a reconstruction of John Soane’s Stock Office. It explores the history of the Bank of England and its role in the British Empire. There is also lots of information about modern international economics and banking practices.
The exhibitions are imaginative and interesting, and among other things you can have a go at trading stocks and shares. The museum is open Mondays to Fridays 10am to 5pm. Admission is free.
