Along with Mayfair and St James’s, Belgravia is one of London’s most expensive and exclusive districts. It is a small area to the south of Buckingham Palace.
The area has long been the home of London’s aristocrats, and it still is. This is where some of the richest families in England live and it is also home to more than 25 foreign embassies, giving it the nickname “Embassy-land”.
Belgrave Square, built between 1825 and 1835 is the focal point of the area and the elegant Regency architecture of this square is typical of Belgravia. But other than the architecture, there is little in Belgravia to attract the tourists for it is a predominantly residential district.
