England Made Me
All about England
Brighton’s Museum and Art Gallery can be found on Church Street, in an annexe of the town Library.
The Museum and Art Gallery is open daily except Wednesdays but opening hours vary according to day so do check in advance. Admission is free.
Adjacent to the Royal Pavilion, the building was originally a stable building, built to house the Royal horses.
Alongside all the usual local history museum collections you would expect of a town museum, there is a particularly interesting collection of Art Deco and Art Nouveau furniture and furnishings.
The most famous exhibit is a sofa by Salvador Dali, designed in the shape of Mae West’s lips! But unfortunately it is often on loan to other museums so you may not get to see it.
