England Made Me
All about England
This part of Birmingham’s city centre can be found just to the west of the International Convention Centre.
Brindley Place takes its name from the 18th century industrialist James Brindley who built much of Birmingham’s extensive canal system.
In recent years the place has been at the centre of Birmingham’s extensive programme of rejuvenation. As a result there are plenty of waterside bars, restaurants and shopping arcades around, making Brindley Place a lovely area to just wander and browse in.
It is also an excellent place from which to explore Birmingham’s superb canal system.
Tourist attractions in Brindley Place include the Ikon Gallery and the National Sea Life Centre.
