Cardiff, or “Caerdyff” as it is known in Welsh, is perhaps the best known of Wales’ cities and it is certainly the most visited.

However, many people may be surprised to know that Cardiff only became the Capital of Wales as recently as 1955.

Nevertheless, since that time the city has done more than enough to live up to the title.

Having undergone extensive redevelopment, it is now home to a world class opera house, some superb museums, excellent sporting venues and a vibrant nightlife.

Now one of the UK’s most fashionable cities, Cardiff is definitely on the up, with plenty for visitors to see and do.
