Clifton is most famous for its landmark Clifton Suspension Bridge that spans the Avon Gorge here.

The bridge is over 700ft long and sits nearly 250ft above the river’s high water mark.

Built in 1864, it was designed by renowned Victorian engineer and local man Isambard Kingdom Brunel.
