England Made Me

All about England

The small town of Cockermouth is located in the northern part of the Lake District National Park, at the point where the rivers Cocker and Derwent merge.

One of the few towns in the Park without a major lake right on its doorstep, this is nevertheless a popular base for visitors to the region.

Its main claim to fame is that this is where William Wordsworth was born – his childhood house is now a National Trust property known as Wordsworth House.
