Fitzrovia is the name given to the small area of central London that stretches from Oxford Street in the south to Euston Road in the north and from Great Portland Street in the west and Gower Street in the east.

Like its neighbouring district of Soho, Fitzrovia has a cosmopolitan and bohemian reputation, and over the years it has been home to numerous writers and artists. For example Fitrovia was one of the preferred hangouts for the Bloomsbury Group.

Today Fitzrovia hasn’t got as much going on as Soho, but it is nevertheless worth visiting. There are numerous fashionable restaurants and bistros in the district and so the area is becoming increasingly popular with London’s trendy set.

The most famous landmark in Fitzrovia has to be the former Post Office Tower, now the BT Tower. But since this is now closed to the public the main tourist attraction in the area is now the Pollock’s Toy Museum.
