Brighton is home to one of the largest and most active gay and lesbian communities outside of London.

Since the 18th century, when the fun loving Prince Regent patronised the town, Brighton has had a reputation for frivolity and permissiveness - and many cite this as the main reason that the town has attracted so many gay and lesbian residents.

In today’s Brighton you will find everything from hotels, restaurants and beaches that specifically cater for a gay or lesbian clientele. And in particular there is an excellent gay nightclub scene.
