All about England

This building on Buckingham Palace Road is the international headquarters of the Girl Guide movement. And it has recently opened a museum telling the story of the Girl Guides.

The Girl Guide Movement was founded in 1910 after numerous girls tried to attend the 1909 Scout Rally. It was run by Agnes Baden-Powell, sister to Lord Robert Baden-Powell who founded the Scout movement.

The Girl Guide Museum is open from 9.30am-5pm Mondays-Saturdays during school holidays, Thursdays-Saturdays during term time. A museum to Baden-Powell and the Scout movement can be found in Baden-Powell House.
