England Made Me
All about England
This district of London is situated to the north-west of central London, just north of Cricklewood. There was a Hendon Manor in the area as far back as the 10th century and it is this manor which gives the district its name.
Like nearby Cricklewood, Hendon was rural for many years and then in the 20th century became most well known for its motor car and aerospace industries. Today the district is mainly residential, but the legacy of industry can still be seen.
Appropriately enough, an RAF Museum is located in Hendon – a must for any fan of aeroplanes.
