<She Loves You–In a hotel, McCartney and Lennon were inspired to write “She Loves You” after a concert at the Majestic Ballroom in Newcastle as part of their tour with Roy Orbison and Gerry and the Pacemakers.

<I Want to Hold Your Hand–Lennon and McCartney were encouraged by manager Brian Epstein to write something intended to interest American listeners. The two Beatles sat at a piano in the basement of a house and began working on it.

<Help!–As revealed in the miniseries, The Beatles Anthology, Lennon wrote the lyrics of the song to express his stress coming from the quick rise to a massive level of success for The Beatles after years of obscurity.

<Penny Lane–They wrote this song about a real place called Penny Lane, and things near this place.

<Hey Jude–After Lennon and Powell separated, McCartney went to see Powell and Julian, Lennon’s son with her.The original title was “Hey Jules”, and it was intended to comfort Julian Lennon from the stress of his parent’s divorce. “I started with the idea ‘Hey Jules’, which was Julian, don’t make it bad, take a sad song and make it better. Hey, try and deal with this terrible thing. McCartney later changed it to “Hey Jude” because he thought it sounded better.
