England Made Me

All about England

Liverpool is, of course, famous the world over for being the city that spawned The Beatles.

And as you might expect everywhere you go in the city there is some bit of Beatles trivia waiting to be discovered as just about every building claims some obscure connection to the Fab Four.

One of the most obvious places to head for is the Cavern Club on Matthew Street. And The Beatles Story on Albert Dock will tell you everything you ever wanted to know about the band.

A more recent Beatles-related tourist attraction is 20 Forthlin Road, the former boyhood home of Paul McCartney and now a National Trust property.

If you want to visit some of the places mentioned in songs, for example Penny Lane or Strawberry Fields, you can buy various “Beatles’ Liverpool” maps or hop on a Magical Mystery Tour bus.

And if you are a truly devoted fan, remember to visit during the annual International Beatles Convention, which is held in Liverpool on the last weekend in August.
