The Pump Room is situated right next door to the Roman Baths in the Abbey Courtyard is Bath’s famous Pump Room.

Built in the 1790s, these rooms were at the very centre of Georgian high society. Today they are well preserved and they are an excellent example of 18th century elegance and formality.

Today the Pump Room is home to a small cafeteria where you can drink morning coffee or afternoon tea overlooking the remains of the Roman Great Bath.

And as if that wasn’t enough, for added atmosphere there is usually music provided by the Pump Room Trio as well!

Bath Town Guide, Pump Room, 7K On the south side of the Pump Room is an elegant 19th century drinking fountain from which you can sample the Bath waters - although be warned, you may not enjoy the taste!

The Pump Room is open daily but opening times vary according to day and season so do check in advance. Entry is free.
