Compton Terrace, Upper Street, N1

A chapel has stood on this site since the beginning of the 19th century, however the current building dates from 1876. A particularly interesting artefact that is held in the Chapel is a section of the rock, which the Pilgrim Fathers allegedly landed on when they first reached America.
However, Union Chapel is probably better known for its octagonal interior, which can seat over 1500 people, and its 50ft high ceiling. As a result, the acoustics are excellent, and so the chapel is also the regular venue for live music recitals.
It has an excellent reputation as a venue and features a wide variety of styles including indie, jazz, folk and world music. Ticket prices vary according to shows.
