England Made Me
All about England
We can thank Shakespeare for so many things. He added 10,000 words to the English language. Like so many artists, I don’t think he was famous when he was alive though. He was alive at the time that the Bible was translated by King James I of England, hence the King James Bible. He was alive at the time of Elizabeth I, the “virgin queen”, I think James was her nephew. She was fairly old when Shakespeare came along though.
Shakespeare lived life to the full. The range of his experience was vast and deep. The gift of portraying the panorama of human intrigue, romance, humor, abject heart break, passion, and drama of every life imaginable and displaying the magnitude of it on stage and in letters is the work of genius. Genius is the one word that adequately describes him.
