York is one of Britain’s most historic cities and so it should be high up on the list of any visitor to the UK.

It is also a particularly attractive city with winding medieval streets, elegant Georgian terraces, pretty rivers – all of which are overshadowed by the magnificent York Minster.

There is plenty to do in York with its superb architecture, award winning museums and lovely shopping districts – so you shouldn’t be bored.

And it is a very good city for families to visit for there are lots of attractions that will keep the kids entertained.
